Little Red 2009 is the latest in the 'boot series' which is part of Breathing Colours Christmas exhibition. The opening was a great success with many a Christmas cheer! The gallery was filled with both functional and non-functional pieces, from sculpture to jewellery to wall art, it was full of bright, bold colour as far as the eye could see. This may well be the last of the boot series, time for a step in another direction - study and working in a studio again, rather than my bedroom floor! That will make the landlord happy. We shall see what my honours year conjures up in March 2010. And in the mean time... January 2010, will be spent in Western Australia doing a ceramic residency at SODA studios, Fremantle. I'm looking forward to fresh ideas, new knowledge and a renewed ceramic vision. January will be a welcome coastal change from the NSW side of life- stay tuned for updates on this stay. Have a happy and healthy 2010!

It's been too long...
Busy busy bee... Triennale, honours applications, juggling three jobs, travel plans, making work for exhibitions...life has been happening, hence the irregular updates and no pictures to upload as my camera is currently missing in action since it was burgled from home last year-I really need to buy one to stop bothering others! The net is down at home too so my posts won't be as regular as I'd like, but I'm working on it. When it rains, it pours right?! Keep in touch, next year promises to be very exciting indeed!

Ceramic Revisions: Brenda May Gallery
My latest series 'Footprints' featured at Brenda May Gallery, a group exhibition titled: Ceramic Revisions, in association with the Australian Ceramics Triennale '09. A selection of this eight piece series remains on display. If you're in the Waterloo area take a peek :)
I have incorporated text inside the boots and imagery on the exterior to illuminate hidden memories and keepsakes of my life that are often overshadowed, but are nevertheless determining characteristics of my identity. The imagery embodies memories of my mum and sentimental objects significant of our short time together.
